Cherie Bosela has been creating mosaic art professionally since 2010 and creating mosaic art as a hobby since 1999. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Art. It was during her college years that she learned about Antoni Gaudí and loved the mosaic work he included in his architecture. She knew this was the medium she wanted to work in. Photography and Ceramics were her medium of choice before she discovered mosaic art. Naturally, she wanted to combine her photography and handmade tiles into her mosaic work.
For many years, Cherie exhibited her fine mosaic art and participated in fine art festivals. Her mosaic work has been included in exhibits at The Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA, 1st Thursdays at the Orlando Museum of Art, Mayor’s Gallery in Orlando’s City Hall, The Parthenon Museum in Nashville, TN to name a few. She has won many awards for her mosaic work both in Fine Art and Large Scale Art.
In 2016 Cherie quit her full-time job to open Luna Mosaic Arts, a brick and mortar studio space and retail shop in Downtown Orlando. She sells various mosaic supplies, artwork, hosts mosaic artists from all over the world to teach workshops and creates her artwork and mural.
While Cherie created couple small murals before 2016, now she has the space available to create large scale murals. Her most recent mural for the Jacksonville Airport was 800 sq ft and it extends along 3 walls. Her artwork mostly focuses on the Flora and Fauna of Florida, but she does enjoy working on murals for clients with a specific ideas and subjects. All of her mosaic murals can be seen throughout Central Florida with one right around the corner at the entrance of Universal Aventura Hotel.
