Founder and Chief Executive Officer Tile Doctor
Curt Rapp is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Tile Doctor. Rapp has more than 40 years tile industry experience and is recognized within the industry for his extensive knowledge of purchasing and product development, importing, manufacturing and distribution. After beginning his tile career with a Calif.-based family business, Rapp spent 14 years with Dal-Tile, the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of ceramic tile products. He held various positions there, including Domestic Tile Products Procurement Coordinator, Regional Manager for both the South and Western regions, and Manager of the Corona, Calif. branch.
Rapp was subsequently recruited to serve as Product Merchandise Manager and National Captain for Ceramic Tile with The Home Depot, Under his stewardship, company-wide category sales grew from $385 million to $647 million representing a more than 20% annual growth rate, exceeding both business plan and industry-wide growth.
In 1999, Rapp’s vision leads him to the internet. He founded Tile Media Properties, where he serves as CEO today and is home of The Tile Doctor, which initially became the world’s most travelled website for the Tile and Stone Industry. In 2009, he led the company into developing products fitting the mantra of health and wellness, solutions and remedies, Tile Doctor is one of the most innovative companies in the industry. 2-time winner of the internationally recognized Edison Award for Innovation. In 2011 Tile Doctor won the Edison Award for Shield, an eco friendly antimicrobial that works 24/7 and has no negative environmental legacy issues normally associated with these chemistries. Shield also was issued a US patent in 2018. In 2021 Tile Doctor received a Gold (top honor) Edison Award for DuraTile® the patented floating floor system for porcelain tiles that uses no adhesive or grout.
